Looking around the shops I have been thinking about Mother’s day and what to get my mum in law for the special day. My mum isn’t here anymore, and not one day goes by where I don’t think about her. She died when I was 17, and I always felt extraordinarily sad about losing her. The pain was just too much sometimes, but when I met my mum in law and I saw how wonderful she treated my children, how kind she is, well she made up a lot for not having my mum.

No one can replace your Mum, but especially when you have children, you realise just how important they are and my Mum in Law is just an absolute star. So loving, kind, thoughtful and easy to be around. It’s strange and some people might laugh but I do feel my mum around me all the time. I feel that she has never left my side and that gives me great comfort.

Back to Mother’s day presents and last year I took my mum in law to a wonderful evening, we drank tea cocktails and then made teacup terrariums. I will repost this blog post, as it was an amazing night booked with The Birdhouse Tea Company

I was thinking what might be a nice idea to come up with when I suddenly thought about the theatre! My mum in law loves the theatre and so I quickly popped online in between my mad cleaning day and had a quick look around the website. There in front of me was The Northern Ballet with Cassanova, I just thought brilliant she will love it! Went straight to the afternoon showing and guess what only 2 tickets left for The Lyceum Sheffield, and they were pretty damn good seats, so I did what any decent daughter in law would do I bought them. So we are off on the 30th March to see what looks like lots of men wearing not much on top, but definitely wearing trousers, and I have to say rather giddy about it 🙂

Going off to the supermarket Aldi, I always like to buy their fruit when making smoothies as you can add so much fruit, and also they sell very good organic cold pressed coconut oil for a small price. I wandered around and saw some new cushions in stock, that were being sold as Bedroom cushions for the bargain price of £4.99. So I bought one for my back room sofa, as I knew I loved it and thought I am not even going to question buying this item. The wording made me think that any Adele or Lionel Ritchie fans would love this! Sorry poor joke I know but it made me giggle 🙂

I also went to Winchester in half term and found these vintage jars and I love them it says on the jar Cartwright and Butler of Yorkshire, which made me smile as I was 4.5 hrs away from Yorkshire I had to get them, and here they are proudly on my Kitchen shelf!

Later on this week I will be doing a post about venturing to Auction Houses and how you can pick up an absolute bargain, what to look out for, and how to get the bidding bug so come back this weekend for more 🙂 Have a great week 🙂

Sorry to hear you lost your mum but glad your mother in law is nice. Sounds like it was meant to be with the ballet . What are the chances of two good seats being left. Have a wonderful time at the theatre.
