So, my phone had been playing up not really holding its battery and my hubby decided he would change the phone for a newer one, which meant everything had to be added to my new phone again. Well, I added most things except my twitter password. I know this sounds petty but my password was in my notebook on the top floor and well since Saturday I have felt too lazy to go to the top floor and retrieve my password so I could be a tweeter again. It felt like a mission impossible film, you know the whole effort of climbing 4 floors and searching for my notebook LOL! All I can say in my defence is I haven’t felt 100% and well I had been on an epic walk on Saturday. Sunshine was all around me and I needed to enjoy the last moments of Summer!

So when I did retrieve my password today I got a lovely tweet from Natalie at A lot of What you Fancy. Natalie had nominated me for a Liebster Award. The Liebster award is awarded to new bloggers, by bloggers and it’s all about discovering new blogs, spreading love around the blogosphere. It’s about making new friends via our blogs. It also gives readers a chance to see who you are as a person behind your blog. To understand more about you and what you love.

The rules for the Liebster Award are:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Use the Liebster Award image within your blog post.
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger who nominated you set.
  • Nominate 11 other new bloggers whose work and blog page you admire.
  • Ask them 11 questions.

Here are the questions that Natalie asked me.

  1. Why did you choose the blog name that you did?

I chose this name because I wanted to show a distinctive statement that I am a northern girl, very proud of my roots and my city. I love what my city is all about. Growing up and loving design particularly from the age of 24 I noticed that all design on an Interior level was all focused around London. This frustrated me because I felt across the country there were so many companies and individuals that had a mark to make. All of that changed and with huge thanks to Social Media, especially Instagram. For the first time, it didn’t matter where you were based you could grab the attention of the world. With the likes of Nest.co.uk setting up their offices and company from Sheffield. Karen Knox really causing waves in the Interior Design world and being from Leeds, finally, the North has been making its mark. 93 Feet an innovative leader in Interior Design based in Sheffield has been nominated for an award in the International Design Excellence Awards and so I have the feeling that things are changing. I joked with Karen after watching GOT, that at this rate we could take all 7 kingdoms and it was a heartwarming thought 🙂 Although saying these things I have now moved to the South Coast!!! But my roots still remain very northern and so I am not about to change my name. Nothing pleases me more than travelling home and hitting my favourite spots across the city.

2. What do you love most about blogging?

The feeling you get when you have written from your heart. Even though I don’t consider myself to be a great writer it brings me so much joy. I thought it was because of my passion for Interiors but I was asked last week to write about a completely different field and I still had the same drive and passion to make it into something I would want to read. I love finding out about facts linking to my posts. For example finding out that auctions were originally held by candlelight and the auction of goods finished when the flame went out! I love researching and finding interesting things out about my current topic at hand. I also love it when someone likes what you have written, it makes the whole process worthwhile 🙂

3.If you could be friends with one other blogger, who you don’t know in the ‘real world’, who would it be and why?

Elodie from Elle Yeah because she just has style and I think I could learn more about beauty and make up. I love the fact that she is half French and half Italian and spends a lot of time in London. Elodie gets that relaxed living style that we should all crave and I think that comes from spending a lot of time in France.

4. How long have you been blogging for?

I have been blogging for nearly a year. My blog went live at the beginning of November although I had been travelling writing my blog posts since August, it was so lovely to share my ideas and journey with everyone. I intend to celebrate with friends and other bloggers as it means so much to me to be able to do something I thoroughly love.

5. What would you eat as your last meal?

Ooh, it’s a tough one. It is honestly a toss up between a Sunday lunch with all the trimmings and a curry. Love both very much so it would depend on what day was my last day, whether I had to prepare the meal myself, as I am very picky about where I have my Sunday lunch when out. It is a common fact I have driven 2 hours in the past to a pub because they made an epic lunch lol!

6. What is your favourite TV programme and why?

I can’t say I have one. I have a few but at the top are

Poldark because Aiden Turner is one of my celebrity crushes. His wonderful locks, amazing charm and his moody looks he gives makes my Sunday nights a little more blissful. Oh, and it’s good writing and a good programme honest 🙂

Doctor Foster because it makes me so stressed watching but I just want to see what happens next and I feel so sorry for her, I think its so harrowing how her husband practically ran two lives!

This year I have so loved the Handmaids tale because it is so gripping. The storyline has so much stress for a woman in our modern age to grasp that life could be like that makes me feel nauseous. I have had to buy the book because I can’t wait for thesecond season to be aired.

Gogglebox because this is what we all do as a nation, we watch the box and have our opinions on telly! very clever telly in my opinion.

Graham Norton on a Friday night because after I think season 17 I still love watching his show!

GOT just pure class and to think it takes so long to film some amazing scenes. I do love Jon Snow and say so many times You know nothing Jon Snow just wind my family up he he

7. Which celebrity do people think you look like if any?

It isn’t so much who I look like more who I remind them of. This is a cross between Bridgette Jones and Miranda because I am so clumsy and manage to get into the funniest of situations. There are so many funny incidents I am thinking I could write a book.

8.You have just won £10,000 on a scratch card and have to do something fun with it. What do you do?

I would probably spend it on making memories. I would go on a couple of holidays and it would always be fun because like I just said I am always getting into funny situations 🙂

9. Who were your favourite band in your teens?

Simple Minds

10.Where do you see yourself and your blog in 2 years?

Hopefully growing from strength to strength. I will hopefully have some good experience and knowledge to share.

11.Where is your dream holiday destination?

At the moment it is Sweden. I have found a holiday place that is a 2-hour drive from Copenhagen and that would suit me so well. I love cabins and would like to spend time travelling around the world looking at them. There are plenty of places I would like to go. I am a bit of a city break lover and would love to visit Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. I would also love to visit a place like the Maldives for a nice white beach and relaxing holiday. I do love Greece and spent quite a bit of time there and so would like to explore a few more of the islands there. I always wanted to visit Santorini and although people say it is expensive I would just like to go 🙂

I have answered my questions and so need to nominate other blogs I admire.

Thank you so much to Natalie because the fact that you trained as a journalist and enjoy reading my posts gives me much hope and joy 🙂

Here are the blogs I love and read and would like to know about. There are lots I love that are not on here either because I have already seen them nominated or they are quite established blogs with a huge following and not new. There a few here that although might not be new they are new to me and I have recently started reading their blogs.
